Our Markup Language Experience
For nearly 40 years (since 1983), HEBCO personnel have authored millions of pages of technical manuals into editable electronic format for the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Energy (DoE). During this time we have supported more than 100 different weapon systems with projects ranging from compiling engineering source data to editing, updating, publishing and distributing virtually every type of technical manual available to the military. We have spearheaded numerous different DTD’s and XML Schemas and work directly with specifications committees on a regular basis.
HEBCO is involved in every facet of Technical Manual development and sustainment. We support the military as both a prime and subcontractor to develop, digitize and sustain technical data in various electronic formats, including eXtensible Markup Language (XML), Portable Document Format (PDF), Indexed PDF (IPDF), PageMaker, Frame Maker, Interleaf, Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML), Electronic Technical Orders (eTOs), and in HEBCO's own Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs). This includes flight manuals, checklists, illustrated parts breakdowns, maintenance manuals, work cards, inspection manuals, and various commercial manuals to name a few. We develop new Technical Manuals (TMs), Technical Orders (TOs), and Country Standard Technical Orders (CSTOs). HEBCO also supports the DoD direction by providing training in SGML, S1000D, XML and IETMS. HEBCO works closely with programs on configuration control using our Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)® Maturity Level 3 processes and incorporation of modifications while keeping current sustainment cycles on time.
HEBCO provides a single source for complete engineering and technical publication design, development and support. Document support activities include processing complete and update revisions, incorporating change data, developing supplements, providing printing services, converting microfilm and microfiche, distributing documents worldwide, and warehousing support. HEBCO provides expertise in technical writing, editing, technical drawing, composition, and quality assurance to accomplish a wide variety of technical data publishing efforts.
